Geoffrey Gorman exhibit "Creatures of Curiosity"
The exhibition of "phantasmagorical" animals is a 10-year survey of Santa Fe-based artist Geoffrey Gorman's work. Materials used to construct sculptures include weathered cedar sticks, bailing wire, old cloth, tin cans and bicycle parts. Gorman's animals seem alive and energized with a strange kind of dignity, self-awareness and alertness usually found only in living animals. Artist's reception held on Friday, Feb. 20 from 5-8 p.m. with artist's talk at 6:15 p.m.

Tampa Pride Parade & Festival
An inaugural event, Tampa Pride will host a daytime parade along 7th Avenue and street festival on 8th Avenue between 14th to 17th streets. Grand Marshals for the Tampa Pride Parade are Tampa Police Chief Jane Castor and community leader Kurt King, owner and operator of Hamburger Mary's in Centro Ybor.

Warm Up to WMNF’s Tropical Heatwave Fundraiser
Cigar City Cider and Mead is hosting a charity benefit for WMNF’s upcoming 34th Annual Tropical Heatwave. From 7pm until closing, Cigar City Cider and Mead will donate up to 20% of the proceeds of all beverages purchased that night to WMNF. A special Tropical Heatwave Cider will also be available on tap. Local favorite and WMNF personality Christie Lenee will be providing the evening’s soundtrack. DJ Bobbie Dusenberry from the Monday Traffic Jam will be there, too.

9th Annual Aficionado Days Tapas Trail & After Party
Join the Ybor City Chamber of Commerce as it celebrates the manufacturing of the first cigar rolled in Ybor City in 1886.  This family-friendly event features a stroll through Ybor City while sampling tapas and hors d’oeuvres at more than a dozen of Ybor’s top restaurants. After the trail, attendees will head to the After Party at the historic Macaroni Building on 22nd St., for door prizes, a silent auction, a complimentary cigar from Tampa Sweetheart Cigars, desserts, spirits and the opportunity to vote for the “People’s Choice #1 Tapas on the Tapas Trail” for 2015.

The Ybor City School of Visual and Performing Arts Gallery invites the public to an opening reception of its 41st Annual HCC student show in which all art students enter selected mediums created in the two semesters of 2014-15. A respected outside juror will judge the students’ work. Winners will receive monetary scholarships sponsored by Tampa’s Art support group, Las Damas De Arte, who we have collaborated with for 25+ years.

18th Annual Festa Italiana Weekend
Festa Italiana is an annual multi-day event that honors Italian culture and heritage by showcasing the finest cuisine, exciting entertainment, premier wine and spirits, and activities for guests of all ages. Thursday features a Wines of Italy tasting; Saturday events include the annual Bocce Ball Invitational, the Italian Idol Singing Competition, and Homemade Vino Competition; and Sunday culminates with the main event Festa Italiana, featuring more than 35 of Tampa Bay's best restaurants and catering companies serving delicious food and tastings.

Festa Italiana presents Wines of Italy, the official opening party for Festa Italiana Weekend. Festa Italiana
The culmination of Festa Italiana concludes with more than 35 of Tampa Bay’s top restaurants and catering companies serving delicious dishes and tastings. World-renowned performers will headline the main stage. Other attractions include a children’s area with numerous games and activities, and the Club Italia Party Tent will offer adults handcrafted Italian cocktails and wine pairings with small plates amid a party lounge atmosphere. Proceeds benefit The Italian Club (L’Unione Italiana) Restoration Fund.

Ryan’s Run
Come support the Ryan McCall Memorial Fund with a race dedicated to the memory of Ryan McCall, a rising athlete and senior at the University of Tampa, and the ideals that he believed in. All the proceeds raised will go towards a scholarship that will be given to a male and female Hillsborough County high school student who share those same principles and work ethic that Ryan practiced.
