Ybor City is bringing back a Tampa tradition that was popular in the 1950s - a community holiday celebration. For the second year, the businesses and residents of Ybor City are coming together to create many memorable holiday experiences for all to enjoy.

Sunday, November 20Christmas Wreath

Community Holiday Decorating Party
Volunteers are needed to help decorate Historic Ybor City with the holiday spirit. Businesses around Ybor City have donated decorations to be placed around the district. Last year, more than 80 volunteers helped spread the holiday cheer!

Gateway Wreath and Décor Hanging

Christmas Tree LightingTree Lighting Ceremony
Can’t make it to Rockefeller Center in New York City this winter? See Santa and children from 4KIDS of Tampa, a foster care organization, light the 34’ tree in Centro Ybor for the first time this season. Enjoy complimentary hot chocolate from Joffrey’s Coffee, free sandwiches from Jimmy Johns, and free bread pudding from Blue Dog Bistro. Bring your camera for photo opportunities with Santa by the tree. Listen to the sounds of the season with live carolers. Free to attend.

Miracle on 7th Avenue
The RITZ Ybor is hosting their 3rd annual holiday party featuring live entertainment by The Ken Apperson Band along with holiday-themed cocktails, photos with Santa, arts & crafts, complimentary hors d'oeuvres, Holiday Tree Decorating Contest and more. Open to all ages; donations accepted at the door to benefit Pediatric Cancer Fund (PCF).

Art in the ParkYbor City Historic Holiday schedule of events
Hosted by City of Tampa’s Parks and Recreation Department, the 2nd annual Arts in the Park festival features artists from around the country along with the weekly Saturday Market. More than $2,000 will be awarded to artists for first, second, third and best of show cash prizes. Live holiday performances will happen in and around Centennial Park and Centro Ybor.  Starting at 11 a.m. and continuing through the day, Santa will make appearances in Centennial Park and around Ybor City – bring your camera and be on the lookout for surprise gifts!

Centro Ybor presents Streetcar Holiday Connections
Get a one-of-a-kind glimpse of holiday cheer courtesy of Centro Ybor. For one day only, take a 25-cent streetcar ride through Ybor City, Channel District and Downtown Tampa (map). Some shops and restaurants located along the streetcar line will have special offers and discounts for presenting a Streetcar Holiday Connections brochure, available at all streetcar stations on the day of the event. Visit the streetcar information table at Centro Ybor to receive tickets for a free kid's meal at Gametime (while supplies last). Shake out the change jar for those quarters - the motormen are not able to provide change.

Deck the Walls - Art Under $100
Ybor Arts Association member artists offer an affordable artistic alternative to the typical gift-giving. From fine artists to sculptors, arts and crafts to hand-made jewelry, Deck the Walls shares the gift of art and supports local artists and retailers. Participating holiday art crawl venues include Ybor Art Association Gallery, Blues Ship Cafe, Hoffman Porges Gallery, Centro Ybor, Singing Stone Gallery, Gaspar’s Grotto, Sunday's Fine Dining, The Roosevelt, and the historic Don Vicente Inn. Deck the Walls art crawl map of venues and coordinating times will be available at Centennial Park and participating “Deck the Walls” venues.

Tampa Charities organizes an annual pub crawl around Ybor City, with prizes awarded for best holiday costumes.

Photos with Santa & Live Holiday Music
Bring your camera and take your photo with jolly St. Nick against the backdrop of a 34’ tree in the courtyard of Centro Ybor and in various Ybor City establishments. Carolers will provide sounds of the season in Centro Ybor’s courtyard. Free.

Christmas in the Park
The East Ybor Historic and Civic Association, Inc. is hosting the 6th annual Christmas in the Park for underprivileged children in the East Ybor community. Santa Claus will distribute books, stuffed animals, toys and beads and volunteers will serve hot dogs hot dogs with all the fixings. The event is sponsored by Tampa Police Department, Tampa Fire Rescue, City of Tampa Parks and Recreation, The Rough Riders and the Ada T. Payne Friends of the Urban Libraries. East Ybor community boundaries are 22nd St on the west, 40th St on the east, Adamo Dr on the south and I-4 on the North.

Outback Bowl New Year’s Eve Parade & Band Blast
The official Outback Bowl parade and pep rally features floats, college cheerleaders and more than 20 marching bands. Free family-friendly event. Sponsored by United Healthcare, Budweiser, 970 WFLA, 93.3FLZ Radio, 620 WDAE and the City of Tampa.
