The East Ybor Gateway Monument marks the east-end entrance of the Ybor CRA 2 boundary located at 7th Avenue and 26th Street. This project would not have happened without the vision, patience, and persistence of East Ybor’s first neighborhood association created more than 20 years ago.

7th Avenue Archway Lights Rejuvenation Project

Project Commencement: November 2022

Project Completion: March 2023

Ribbon Cutting Ceremony: April 2023

The suspended decorative lighted archways above 7th Avenue have become iconic elements of the Ybor City National Historic Landmark District. Originally installed for the 1990 Centennial Celebration, they were never removed due to their charm and popularity. Today, the archways remain a distinct feature that impresses the thousands of annual visitors coming to experience the rich history, culture, and lifestyle of a lively walkable historic district. As a part of the city’s economic development focus, the archway lights underwent an aesthetic rejuvenation to convert the lights to more environmentally sustainable technology.
